Danielle Babb

Dr. Danielle Lynn Babb (Wright) is an author, entrepreneur, and a professor. A California native, she is the author of several books, appearing frequently on national television and radio.

"Dr. Dani" is a professor with several online universities educating in the fields of technology, economics, management and statistics. She has earned her PhD in Organization & Management with a technology emphasis, an MBA and her bachelors in Business. She worked within Corporate America, primarily for real estate companies, specializing in information technology. After earning her doctorate, she transitioned to running her own real estate investment business and teaching online, which continues today. After publishing three books on real estate, she has become the go-to person for a number of business analysts and television studios.

Early life

Danielle Lynn Wright was born to Susan and Dennis Wright on March 15, 1975. She grew up in Riverside County, California, remaining there throughout her college year.

While completing her undergraduate studies at the University of California at Riverside, Dani began working as an Information Technology Director for Loma Linda University, School of Public and Allied Health. As her education progressed so did her career as she quickly advanced to an Associate Professor for Loma Linda University, School of Public and Allied Health. She graduated from the University of California at Riverside in 1997 and immediately enrolled in her MBA program at the University of Redlands, Whitehead College. She earned her MBA in 2000 with an emphasis in technology.

After working several more years in Corporate America within the realm of real estate, Danielle began pursuing her doctorate while teaching part time in addition to her full time work in real estate technology. She quickly earned a reputation for providing quality work and service to learners as she established herself as a professor. After her graduate studies and achieving her Ph.D., Dr. Dani became a doctoral mentor for learners in the areas of statistics, economics, real estate and technology. After a short time of balancing both her fulltime corporate America career with her teaching career, Dr. Dani left corporate America to run her own business and consultancy, at the same time authoring several books, all within the first 18 months.

Personal life
Dr. Dani was married in 2001 and divorced in 2003. She married again in 2006 after dating nearly three years. She and her husband currently reside in Newport Beach, California.

Controversy
Dr. Dani has been criticized by real estate professionals by writing books indicating their value in the marketplace is dropping. As she noted in her first book Commissions at Risk, homeowners will soon be able to sell their homes entirely online or purchase only services they need from agents, potentially eliminating the need for them within a decade. She continuously criticizes the ten-decade-old MLS system as antiquated and protectionist, and criticizes agents who do not use technology to maximize their efficiency and rode out the increasing market prices while still adding little value for a 2 to 3% commission. She is a strong advocate of capitalist economies and letting the market and free enterprise rule and believes technology will lead the way in the future. While she teaches agents and other real estate professionals how to modernize their business, she firmly believes those that don't will be left in the dust. She's long been critical of almost all mortgage brokers and their business model design as it inherently rips off the customer requiring them to pay more money ever month for their loan than a direct to lender situation. She recommends consumers go direct to lender or shop online only and avoid mortgage brokers at all costs.
