Daniel Rouwkema (born 2 February 1974) is a Dutch composer, organist, conductor, editor and arranger, mainly of English choral music. Biography Born in Smilde, Rouwkema was educated at Zwolle Conservatory (Harm Jansen) and Enschede Conservatory (Gijs van Schoonhoven). Between 2002 and 2003 Daniel worked as a singer, organist and conductor in Chester Cathedral and in 2003 he became Master of Music at St George's Church, Belfast. In 2005 Rouwkema returned to the Netherlands and started composing in the style of Anglican church music. In 2006, Rouwkema founded his own choir, the Martini Boys choir Groningen, which he conducts. He frequently conducts many choirs and orchestras around the Netherlands. Compositions Rouwkema's compositions are chiefly choral, and include hymns, anthems and extended works such as a Magnificat. For the recording of his own cd he composed music on the Naardense Bijbel translation of Pieter Oussoren.
