Daniel Gray

Daniel Gray is a singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist from Toronto, Canada. Notably, he plays every instrument on his recordings, which are recorded and mixed by his father, Juno award winning recording engineer Gary Gray, in their home studio. Daniel's music is a mixture of indie rock, folk and 1960's-influenced pop which has been described by OurStage.com as if he were "melding the elements of McCartney and Wilson with modern traces of Elliott Smith and Broken Social Scene." Some major influences include The Beatles, The Shins, Matt Costa, The National, Simon & Garfunkel, Neil Young, Broken Social Scene, Nick Drake, Arcade Fire, Belle & Sebastian, Donovan, Regina Spektor, and Beck. Daniel has opened for artists such as Ohbijou and Dan Mangan and participated in the 2008 Canadian Music Week festival along with artists such as The New Pornographers, Tokyo Police Club, The Besnard Lakes, Plants and Animals, and Jason Collett. His debut EP "A Future's Past EP" is scheduled for release in early 2009 on his own "Electic T-Shirt Records", followed by a full length album.
