Dangerbox Recordings is an American record label, started by producers Douglas Hazelwood and Artificial Dreamer in 2009 which releases Progressive music.
Name
Dangerbox Comes from the inability of most artists to think outside the box and do something different. It is a metaphor for how dangerous being plain is. Please dont delete us!
History
Dangerbox Recordings was officially launched in July 2008 with the ever popular Artificial Dreamer "Grilled Cheese" EP. With remixes from guys like Zoltan Kontes, and Michael Badal the label came out with a bang.
Before the label was dreamed up Douglas Hazelwood and Michael Marcum were producing prog/trance under the alias Dangerbox. Before the group disbanded there were close to 7 members contributing to projects at any given time; Artificial Dreamer was one of those members, as he and Douglas continued working on music they seemed to find a special affinity and decided to create a new alias and branch away from Dangerbox. As the two aspiring young producers deliberated, they landed on the name Arc and continued to make great music.
As time went on the two felt a need to push new producers music to the world, and do something different. Thus using the old disbanded name of Dangerbox, a digital record label was born.
Noticing the amount of producers that release on several different labels. Arc, wanted to create a family. Loyal artists who helped promote themselves and the label.
Today in 2009 Dangerbox believes they can say they have accomplished this.
