Cynthia Sampson

Cynthia Erin Sampson, who often goes by the alias CyndiSam, is an accomplished writer and humorist. In 2011 she won the prestigious Francis W. Kerr Award for poetry. Her first book of poetry is forthcoming. Her play Mayonnaise debuted at the Mizzou New Play Series in April of 2011 and was an unequivocal success. It is a little known fact that she is behind the Midgets With Yoyos blog and twitter feed. There she records stories from her childhood and funny pictures she finds and takes.
Sampson spent her undergraduate career at the University of Missouri - Columbia where she majored in English and minored in theatre. Because she was able to work with such talented folk as Melissa Range and David Crespy, she flourished and was able to begin work on her memoir. She worked as a writing tutor at the Writing Center. Her work at the WC was very fulfilling and inspired her to pursue a career teaching English as a second language.
