The Curse of the Crease is the supposed curse afflicting all Dallas/Ft. Worth professional sports teams. Since 1999, the Metroplex has lost a Stanley Cup (2000), an NBA Finals (2006), a World Series (2010), and an MLS Cup (2010). In addition to these championship losses, the Dallas Cowboys have won only one playoff game and the Mavericks experienced 11 seasons with more than 50 wins, only to lose in heartbreaking fashion each season. The name stems from Brett Hull's infamous 3OT goal to win the Stanley Cup over Buffalo in which his left skate appears to be in the Goalie's crease, and it has been used by the Dallas Morning News, Dallas Observer, and various forums.
