Cricket 09 is an upcoming EA Sports video game, expected to be released on multiple consoles. Cricket 09 would be the ninth major release in the EA Sports Cricket series. Game details Little is known about Cricket 09, with no formal announcement from EA Sports of the title. Speculation regarding the release of a new title was ignited by a classification of the game by the Australian Office of Film and Literature Classification. Suspicion of a cancellation came from a blog post by EA Sports chief Peter Moore where he stated EA Sports had "absolutely nothing to announce about a cricket game". However past denial of the existence of a Wii version of the game, suggests that it is just an unannounced game, rather than a non-existent one. Other evidence supporting the game's existence is the ability to register the game in EA's online registration site, with it listed under the name Cricket 09 in the PC category. But as of February 14, 2010 no cricket 09 has not been released. Features On 27 February 2010, CricketGaming.net published the list of features of the game which was taken from an official EA Sports site's page. According to this the features of the game are: * World ICC Twenty 20— One of the major International cricket tournaments of 2009. Defending champions India will be looking to win their second World ICC Twenty20 as the tournament kicks off in the UK this summer. * ICC Team Licenses - Full license for 12 major ICC teams, including India, England, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, West Indies and Australia. * Intuitive Mouse Controls - Using just your mouse, you can control batting, bowling and fielding. Bowling is improved using point and click to select your bowl, and batting now emulates the ‘Century Stick’ from Cricket 07 PS2, with over 20 different shot types, and the ability to modify shots using the mouse buttons. * India Domestic T20 League - Unlicensed generic T20 league based on the structure of the hugely popular Indian Premier League, compete with player editor. * 2 Button Controls - Specifically for people who are familiar with Cricket, but not video games. On both keyboard and mouse, use only two buttons for batting, and one for bowling. Complete with feedback to help you improve your skills. Proofs of existence Though EA denied existence of the game, there were some official proofs which indicated that game really existed. The biggest proof was availability of Cricket 09 for PC on their official registration website. Later on, Electronic Arts UK also started providing their hints and tips for Cricket 09 just they do for all their games. Another official proofs were availability of Cricket 09 in EA Store which was removed one day after it was published.
