Courtney Blackhurst

Courtney Nicole Blackurst is a beauty queen from Washington, Pennsylvania who has competed in the Miss USA and Miss America pageant systems.
Blackhurst won the Miss Allegheny Valley 2008 title in a local pageant held in early 2008. It was her first attempt at this title. She went on to compete for the title of Miss Pennsylvania in early July 2008 but did not place at the state competition.
She has also made three attempts at the Miss Pennsylvania USA title, placing in the top 15 in 2007, 2008 and 2009.
Blackhurst graduated from Trinity High School. She then studied at Pennsylvania State University and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Studies Education. At Penn State, she was placed on Dean's List, and has received awards for community service and also an Outstanding Student Teacher Nomination in the fall of 2007. Courtney is an active volunteer for the Pittsburgh Chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation and does grassroots advocacy for the Ovarian Cancer National Alliance.
Blackhurst appeared on CNN and MSNBC during a clip released from the Pittsburgh Pirates Organization in the summer of 2007 of a spoof that the organization made of the final episode of the Sopranos. She can be seen in the restaurant booth during the clip. Blackhurst was employed by the Pittsburgh Pirates as a part of the Canonball Crew from 2006-2008.
Blackhurst was a feature interview from the NHL's Winter Classic in Buffalo, NY for XM radio on the show Hockey This Morning with host Shawn Lavigne. She described her experiences at the hockey show down and gave her perspective on the Penguin's win over the Sabres. . She has also appeared on the opening feed to Sportscenter on ESPN in March of 2006 during Walt Disney World's ESPN's The Weekend. She was a part of the opening presentation of FOX Sports Tonight in Pittsburgh from 2004-2006.
Her hobbies and interests include reading, watching Pittsburgh Penguins hockey games, shopping, playing tennis and piano, tap dancing and attending sporting events.
