CorBALLo is a sport similar to Badminton, but played without a net, and on concrete. It was created by Ryan and Laura Corbello in the Spring of 2006, but didn't gain notoriety until the 1st Annual CorBALLo Tournament of Champions was held in Winston-Salem, NC in May of 2009.. The sport's co-founder, Ryan Corbello was the Tournament's Winner. Differences from Badminton: in CorBALLo, the birdie must always be hit in an upward direction. This is to keep players from spiking the shuttlecock, since there is no net. The playing field measures 12X24 and is made of concrete. <references/> |
