History
Comrade was founded in 2008 by Stan Bogdashin and Ivan Vislavskiy, who had immigrated to the Chicago area from Russia because of the city’s burgeoning IT industry. Like many other great success stories, the first Comrade office was actually located in the basement of the business partner’s house in Deerfield, IL.

* In 2008 Comrade was founded as a web design firm by Stan Bogdashin and Ivan Vislavskiy in the basement of their rental house in Deerfield, IL, shortly after immigrating to the U.S.
* In 2010 the company began deploying highly advanced SEO techniques for the time and was the first SEO company in the US to provide first page SEO results within a 3 to a 4-month timeframe for virtually any keyword. To date, such results are considered extraordinary.
* In 2013 Comrade Web Agency became one of the first agencies in the US to accept bitcoin as a form of payment for web design and online marketing services. The company’s philosophy is driven by a commitment to remaining on the cutting edge of technology and accessibility for clients around the world.
* In 2014 Comrade, having expanded its staff and capabilities, secured a larger office space in Chicago’s tech corridor.
* In 2015 CWA became one of the first web agencies in Chicago to master inbound marketing and Hubspot methodology and tools. This has proved to be a boon for clients.
* In 2016 CWA began working with and promoting a range of IT startups on crowdfunding platforms in a commitment to pay it forward in the tech community.
* In 2018, Comrade was joined by Sasha Berson, former president of Intechnic, a renowned boutique UX / web design firm in Chicago. Under his stewardship as Managing Partner and VP of solutions, Berson and CWA refocused its efforts on eCommerce and WordPress web design, SEO, and digital marketing services.

As of 2020, Comrade employs 32 people across different departments within its two main offices in Chicago, IL, and Volgograd, Russia. Several employees work remotely. Since the COVID recession of 2020, the company has actually expanded its operations including the addition of new hires within its marketing team to better support clients during the economic downturn.
