ColorIURIS is an international management and assignment tool of author's rights, with global legal validity and legal effect of registration in 25 countries (Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador, El Salvador, Spain, United States, France, Guatemala, Honduras, England, Ireland, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Portugal, Dominican Republic, Uruguay and Venezuela), which ensures, through a legal agreement between two parties, that in case of an improper use of the contents referred to in the agreement, the rights holder have a legal tool to enforce them in court. The system also guarantees the impartiality, with respect to the assignor and assignee, of an entity (public or private) that will act as trusted third party (also called "digital notary" in some Iberoamerican countries), who will also hold a copy of the agreement(s). History The system, which was born in Zaragoza (Aragon - Spain), was created in 2005 by attorney Pedro J. Canut, which, among its objectives, referred to the system as a mechanism of transfer of rights "that would respond to the concerns of the Network Society, from the perspective of civil law, with respect to moral rights of authors and vocation of promoting the free circulation of culture", that through a solid legal basis such as contracts, obtaining a paper important in the protection and promotion of copyright in relation to other initiatives, in any case, from our right of continental legal tradition of Roman lineage. The system works by combining legal and computer tools to guarantee the legal effect of transfers of rights in countries of origin of the authors, under Article 27 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and with respect to the Berne Convention, the WIPO Internet Treaties 1996, the rules of U.E. and national legislation of the respective States with legal effect for the creators of the aforementioned countries, respecting the moral rights of authors and explaining the transfer of exploitation rights in order to achieve wider dissemination of culture through licensing agreements online, existing different possibilities of using them, to choice of the holders of the rights, depending on where the content is lodged and in what conditions it wants to yield it. Addressees ColorIURIS is aimed at contents creators (blogs, web sites, as well as literary, musical, visual, photographic, etc.) which using Internet for dissemination, publication and/or availability, and they want to assign all or part of the rights of their creations, depending on what they have (rights of reproduction, distribution, communication and transformation, framed in specified geographical areas and time) within and outside the network, with or without economic compensation.
