Cole Stanley

Cole Stanley (born 1978) is an American politician and businessman who has served as a member of Amarillo City Council Place 1 since 2021. He succeeded Elaine Hays in as Amarillo City Council Place 1 after Elaine Hays chose not to seek reelection. Cole Stanley is the owner of Cole Stanley Builders LTD.
Member of City Council
Cole Stanley announced his intention to run for Amarillo City Council Place 1 on December 18, 2020, shortly after incumbent Elaine Hays announced she would not be seeking reelection to the position. Stanley was joined in the race for the open seat by US Navy veteran Jason Tillery and US Marine Corps veteran and activist Hobert "Gunny" Brown, winning the race with 51.6% of the vote.
During his term in office, Stanley has been the only member of the council to vote against measures pertaining to projects including replacing Amarillo City Hall and renovating the Amarillo Civic Center. Stanley also voiced opposition to Amarillo Mayor Ginger Nelson's decision to sign an open letter calling for gun reform, stating "the Mayor does not speak for me, nor does she represent my views on this subject." In December 2021, Stanley was named ″Pioneer of the Year″ by The Amarillo Pioneer.
