Cochin Duty Free, officially the CIAL Duty free and Retail Services Limited (CDRSL), is the company that operates and manages Duty Free business and retail operations at Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL). CDRSL was incorporated under the Companies Act 2013 on 1st March 2016 as the wholly-owned subsidiary of CIAL. History CIAL started its duty-free business by opening a Last-Minute shop in the International departure terminal on 27th March 2002. Nearly two months later, the arrival and departure duty free shops started operations (on 12th May 2002 and 13th May 2002 respectively). On 1st March 2016, CDRSL was incorporated under the Companies Act 2013, hiving off the duty-free operations from CIAL to M/s CIAL Duty-free and Retail Services Limited w.e.f 1st June 2016. Expansion CIAL commissioned its T3 international terminal on 11th March 2017 and a world-class duty-free shopping infrastructure comprising an arrival duty free shopping area of 25,905 square feet and a departure duty free shopping area of 7134 square feet was commissioned as part of the T3 Terminal infrastructure. Pre Order Facility Cochin Duty Free introduced an online pre-order facility for international passengers arriving at the Cochin International Airport in December 2021. The service was launched by Olympian and Indian Hockey Player P. R. Sreejesh.
