Clyde Frog

Clyde Frog is Eric Cartman's favorite stuffed-animal toy on the American satirical cartoon South Park. It is also the name of a fictional character from About Safety and the Clyde Frog Show, children's educational television shows from the 1970s. Cartman's Clyde Frog toy is green and somewhat resembles Kermit the Frog. It is unknown if Cartman is aware that Clyde Frog originated as a 1970s educational TV character.

Cartman has an extremely close attachment to Clyde Frog. His evil schemes often interfere with his friendships with Stan, Kyle and Kenny, and Clyde Frog seems to be his dearest friend.

The episode Die Hippie, Die has a particularly touching moment between Cartman and Clyde Frog, which illustrates the strength of Cartman's attachment to Clyde Frog. In the scene, Cartman says goodbye to Clyde Frog before undertaking a dangerous mission as the leader of the Hippie-Drill.

In the season 12 premier Tonsil Trouble, Kyle rips off Clyde Frog's head. It is unknown if this will play a role in future depictions of the toy.

Memorable Moments
Cat Orgy: Cartman sings the following song (a parody of a song from the movie Wild Wild West) while playing with Clyde Frog:

Cartman's Mom Is a Dirty Slut:
Cartman has his toys at a table in his backyard and he serves them all tea while talking to the toys (Clyde Frog amongst them) Cartman is also unaware that Stan, Kyle and Kenny are watching him play this game.

His conversation with Clyde Frog is as follows:

CARTMAN
"Would you like some tea, Clyde Frog?"
CARTMAN
(Frog voice)
"Yes, please. Eric, why are you so
cool?"
CARTMAN
"Oh, I don't know, Clyde Frog, I just
am."

Cartman Joins NAMBLA: Cartman decides he is too mature to hang out with his usual kid friends (Stan, Kyle & Kenny). He ends up looking for older male friends in an Internet chat room, thanks to the 'help' of Clyde Frog:

CARTMAN
"I've outgrown all my friends, I need to meet
more mature people, Clyde Frog!"

Clyde Frog just sits there.

CARTMAN
"Oh, great idea Clyde Frog!!
I can meet new friends on the internet!!"

Cartman gets up to his computer and starts typing, thanks to Clyde Frog's 'advice'.

Die Hippie, Die: Before boarding the "Hippie Digger," each crew member says his or her goodbye, Armageddon-style. Cartman addresses his to Clyde Frog:

CARTMAN
"I...don't want you to worry about me, Clyde Frog."
