ClipboardMultiSharer is a light-weight, open-source and cross-platform clipboard utility that allows sharing of text-only content on clipboards of multiple computers in a network. Synergy is a well-known open-source cross-platform keyboard and mouse sharing system which allows also sharing of the clipboard.
ClipboardMultiSharer works by having multiple client computers continuously polling a shared 'clip file' on a single shared host. It requires an underlying remote file system protocol to operate and authorize file access. Other similar purpose utilities may employ network protocol implementations (see for example ) and may require instead resource discovery protocols (such as Peer Name Resolution Protocol) and firewall access.
