Clark Avenue is a major urban thoroughfare in both Vaughan and Markham, Ontario, Canada. It forms the backbone for the community of Thornhill along with Centre Street for the Vaughan-side of the community. It is also used as an alternative connector between Henderson Road in Markham to Dufferin Street in Vaughan. Clark Avenue have two parts: Clark Avenue West and Clark Avenue East. Most of Clark Avenue is located in Vaughan. Clark Avenue West Clark Avenue West is a major urban thoroughfare for Thornhill. It has four lanes and along the entire length of the road, major intersections are served with traffic lights. Clark Avenue West spans from Yonge Street to David Lewis Drive, connecting to Clark Avenue East in its eastern end. Along on Clark Avenue West, especially near New Westminster Drive, some of Vaughan's most premium condominimums and residential high-rises can be found. The area is known to have a medium density residential zone, as contrast to much of the city, where it is mostly lower density residential zone. Clark Avenue West is served by York Regional Transit Route #5 Clark. Brampton Transit Route #77 also utilize the road as well. Attractions * Spring Farm Marketplace * Garnet A. The road is a local road, and has only two lanes. Major intersections are served with stop signs. Together with Clark Avenue West, the road serves as a connector between Henderson Road and Dufferin Street. Along the road, some of Thornhill's historical buildings are located. The road eventually ends at the railway just west of Bayview Avenue. There are no public transit service on this part of the road.
