City-Link Express

City-Link Express is the first and largest package delivery company in Malaysia that provides international shipping of documents and freight as well as third-party logistics. Mr. David Tan established City-Link in 1979 and has transformed the company from a modest operation of three personnel into a major information and technology-based organization. Today, City-Link Express has close to two thousand employees manning more than one hundred branches and stations throughout Asia.

The company's extensive network consists of branches in every major town in Malaysia and also in the ASEAN countries such as Indonesia, Singapore , Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia as well as in Hong Kong, China and Taiwan in the Far East. Such presence enable the formation of strategic alliances with counterparts in Japan, Korea, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Middle East, Australia, USA, Canada, UK and Europe. The alliances are continuously growing, adding on further City-Link coverage areas.

Overview
As a Third-party logistics and Warehousing provider, City-Link Express has engaged in the movement and coordination of goods throughout Malaysia and the region. It had been an extension to many organizations by serving as a cost-effective link in managing inventory, filling order and making efficient deliveries. The company picks, packs, kits and expresses deliveries of products. In recent years, the Corporate Mail-Room Management was initiated by the company. It is a system whereby the mail-room systematically reduces operating costs. The company provides full documentations including, printed quote, proof of shipping, tracking number and access to the track and trace system.

History
* 1979: The company was founded by David Tan in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia.
* April 04 1998: City-Link's new headquarters at Glenmarie Shah Alam, Selangor was launched.
* October 21 2002: Launched e-globalLINK, a total logistics solution using a singular platform to network with its branch offices throughout the world.
* January 29 2007: Signed agreement with Sri Lanka's , appointing the former as the sole agent of distribution in South-East Asia and North Asia.
* January 25 2008: Formed alliance with Japan's second largest courier and logistics provider Sagawa Global Logistics Co Ltd.

Branding
Brand Logo
City-Link's logo portrays a pilot dressed with a red scarf flashing a peace sign. Its logo has been recognized by many in Malaysia.

Color
Official company color is green. Green color is used in the company's fleet of vehicles and uniforms.

Uniforms
The uniform is uniquely designed to reflect City-Link's official color which is green. The company logo are well embroidered above the left pocket of the uniform.
