New Rule Elements
What sets apart Circball from basketball and other variations of basketball is its introduction as a Cooperative_game. Based on the The New Games movement initiated by George Leonard and Stewart Brand, Circball incorporates the spirit of the new games movement through its new rule elements called the "Morality Play rule" and the "Human Rights Play rule." Circball is new and apart from other invented variations of basketball because Circball includes not just a competitive aspects of its play but also includes a cooperative and coordinative play rules as well. This unique aspect of the game sets it apart from other variations of basketball. Cooperative_game which Circball incorporates in its rules are a viable alternative game theory.
:Morality Play.
First Rule Element is called the Morality Play. Starting with the second quarter and any time through the fourth quarter, Morality play is performed by a charitable player (giver) who gives the ball once from the care zone and once from the share zone to any opponent player (beneficiary player) for the opponent player to try for a goal. The charitable player is identified by a marker worn around the neck or arms. Giving two balls completes the Morality Play of one player and successively until all squad members have done their share of Morality Play. (Six players to give two balls to any opponent player). The first team to complete the Morality Play earns a higher bonus point.
:Human Rights Play.
Second Rule Element is called the Human Rights Play. A desire to be more charitable by giving more and more balls after the overall score has been announced. A play initiated by a team ahead in the total overall score at the ended of the final quarter but whose desire is “to give more and more until it hurts” to the opposing team. At the option of the team ahead in the game, any number of balls is voluntarily given to the trailing team for them to try to catch up in points.
The human rights play is between the winning and the losing team with the consent of the coach or manager of the winning team and with the concurrence of the counselors. The ball is given to the trailing team to make a number of shots until the giving of more and more balls hurts consciously. This is character building of the giver hence a "human right."
# A static screen of all opponent players shall be allowed by the official inside the center circle area when the defensive human rights player starts to dribble.
# If the try for goal by the human rights players is unsuccessful, the score count supposed to be made automatically shall be credited to the giver. The usual count of 3 points and 1 point are the basis for scoring and the total human right score to be added to the overall total score.
