CinemaStone was created in 1998 by Jordan Stone, an American based in Milan, Italy. It was set up initially to program original language films in Italian cinemas. After months of searching for the right program of films, Stone found new prints of older films to "re open" in Italy. He told the Italian press that he, "wanted to show these films again, for the first time as all films are released dubbed into Italian. CinemaStone started it's programming at the Cinema Mexico and the Cinema Centrale in Milan, Italy. CinemaStone first program included; Bernardo Bertolucci's "Last Tango in Paris" and Perry Henzell's "The Harder They Come". CinemaStone was also the only cinema to premiere James Cameron's "Titanic" and "The Full Monty" in their original languages in Italy. CinemaStone also acts as a production film service based in Italy and Jordan Stone has been involved with important filmmakers such as Spike Lee, Mike Figgis and Sofia Coppola.
