Christopher Othen

Christopher Othen (born 1971) is a writer living in Essex. He studied Linguistics & Literature at university, continuing his studies by reading Law as a post-graduate.
In May 2007 his first book, Franco's International Brigades: Foreign Volunteers and Fascist Dictators in the Spanish Civil War, was published by Ediciones Destino in Spanish. UK publisher Reportage Press brought out an English language version in November 2008. The book explores the role of the ninety thousand foreign volunteers who fought for General Franco in the Spanish Civil War, and how they were forgotten after the conflict. The Irish Times described it as "an accessible introduction into this neglected aspect of the Spanish Civil War".
