Christian industrial
Christian industrial is an industrial subgenre which uses the genre's base sound, sometimes with a Christian message.
Christian industrial is thought to have started in 1983 with the formation of Blackhouse, who claim to be the first Christian industrial band. In 1988, Christian industrial began to roll as Mortal, The November Commandment and Gadget found underground success. Other breakthroughs in Christian industrial include Global Wave System, Circle of Dust, Argyle Park, Klank, and Audio Paradox, all of which founded during the early 1990s. Circle of Dust frontman Klayton has since started the mainstream act Celldweller, which also has industrial influences, and has worked with Criss Angel on the soundtracks for Criss Angel Mindfreak. Skillet, a Christian band with industrial influences, has enjoyed mainstream success in recent years.
Besides these, there are other, better known bands which have Christian members, and therefore some people also count them as Christian industrial. Amongst these bands are Sanctum, Fallout Nation, Mental Destruction, and Azure Skies.
