Chillay Productions is a machinima team, that makes comedic and dramatic videos. They are mostly known for their show GTA Sa-Mp Cops. The group started from three friends playing online games together to a video production team with over one million views. Over the past year their style has changed from a single camera shot spinning around the main character to cinematic camera shots. Early history
In 2005 Chillay purchased the game Battlefield 2 on PC. After playing the game online for a few months he became friends with William Youngy, they communicated threw a program called Teamspeak using microphones. They continued playing the game for months and met some new people, one of those people being Marty. One after noon during November 2005 Will discovered a program called Fraps, after Chillay got his hands on it, he filmed everything the group did.
Later the team just started filming themselves running around beating up people as cops on San Andreas Multiplayer mod for the Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas PC version. After recording a bunch of footage they put all the random footage into a video and uploaded it on the internet. After getting support from the YouTube community they began making more videos containing story lines.
GTA Sa-Mp COPS
Cops is a machinima comedic drama video series spoof of the filmed on the San Andreas Multiplayer mod for the Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas PC version. The series was created by Chillay Productions and distributed primarily through the Internet. The series started off as three episodes of poor quality and using a single camera shot threw the entire episode. The COPS series has grown with time, branching out from just YouTube videos. In July 2007 Chillay Productions opened a website and a forum to accompany the series. As the show became more popular their technique grew.
The show is currently in its forth season, but unlike most shows, they only do ten episodes a season.
Videos Being Banned
So far two videos have been removed from YouTube by the admins. Season 1: Episode 9 was the first to be taken down when complaints were made over the intro, the intro shows a stripper dancing in front of the camera, and in the next scene she was dancing on a mans lap. The second episode removed was Season 2: Episode 3, the episode featured Paris Hilton and played humor on her jail sentence, but the episode included a remake of the famous Paris Hilton sex tape as well as a few frames from the sex tape its self.
Both episodes are now available for download on the main website.
COPS: The Movie
During the start of October 2007 it was confirmed by Chillay Productions on the forums that a movie is in the works. It was quite likely to continue on from the finale of season 3. But on October 28th, the team quickly changed their minds and announced they would turn the movies story line into a new season and make each episode continue after each other, instead of having different story lines each episodes like they did with previous episodes.
Blood Brothers
After making a season of Cops they wanted to start something new while continuing along with Cops. So on February 25, 2007, they began making a new show called Blood Brothers. It was about two brothers, one working in the army and the other working at a power plant, an explosion at the plant causes trouble for both of them, as the FBI mysteriously kidnap them.
The shows first episode was a great hit, but after a few trys of making the second episode with voice overs, the team were not satisfied with the outcome, so they made the second episode available for download on their website. No more episodes will be made.
From The Depths
On July 01, 2007 the team released a trailer for a new show entitled From The Depths. The show was designed to be semi-horror. The first episode was released July 20, 2007, The episode received almost all positive reviews from viewers. But no other episodes were ever made.
C.P Radio
At the start of August 2007, a radio station for Chillay Productions was launched which had over 700 listeners in total in the first 3 weeks. The radio station was later shut down during the middle of September, on the forums the team said they had removed the radio because it wasn't the way Chillay Productions wanted to go, they wanted to be known for their videos, not their radio.
Branching Out
Early 2008 the team all agreed that they should try to film on other games, so they all went onto Counter Strike: Source and from there they have made two videos, one entitled SWAT and the other entitled The Peace Keepers.
In the middle of 2008 they have made many claims that The Peace Keepers will become a regular show.
They also have made a few videos on the game Battlefield 2, Including BF2 Epilepsy which included fast flickering lights and fast static to give the look of Epilepsy, no reports have been made of anybody getting Epilepsy from the video. The other video was entitled Battle For Primetime which was a comedic fake trailer for a show featuring Teletubbies fighting Care bears.
Fusion
After sometime the Chillay Productions team grew, so a main team member T.D started making a new show entitled Fusion. The show was mostly a Sci-Fi genre, involving radioactive men and a man that could turn into a human fireball. The show had mixed responses, most comments were fans demanding to just stick to cops. The team ignored the demands and continued to make both shows.
On April 2008 the team uploaded a video to Youtube, announcing the final episode was coming soon, bringing the show to a total of five episodes.
