Children of Steel

Children of Steel, recorded in 1994 (see 1994 in music), is the second demo released by German power metal band Edguy prior to signing onto a record label. This album is somewhat notable in that two of the songs appeared on later Edguy albums. A slightly re-worked version of the song Final Gate appeared on the album Kingdom of Madness, under the name Deadmaker. The band would also re-record Children of Steel 10 years later, as a bonustrack on their 2004 album Hellfire Club "Das Reh" is the only song which is sung in German by Edguy. The lyrics are actually a poem by famous German comedian Heinz Erhardt.
