The CSR (Chemical Safety Report) is a requirement according to REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) legislation. The CSR is to be submitted to the European Chemicals Agency as part of the registration dossier and must must document the results of the CSA (Chemical Safety Assessment). The REACH regulation defines the structure and the mandatory contents of the CSR. The purpose of the CSR is to document that the use and/or production of a chemical substance is safe. Thus the CSR comprises - the intrinsic properties, - relevant data on the dose - effect curve to biota leading to the threshold concentrations characterized as PNECs Predicted No-Effect Concentrations and DNELs Derived No-Effect Levels, - the exposure model(s) and levels, i.e. the calculated values for exposure of workers, consumers and the environment (see Predicted Environmental Concentration and Measured Environmental Concentration) and finally the - comparison of exposure concentrations with the threshold concentrations, which is done by the calculation of risk quotients.
