Chelsea Korka (born June 10, 1986) is an American singer, dancer, and former beauty pageant queen. As of 2007 she is a member of Pussycat Dolls' European spin-off group The Paradiso Girls. She is best known for her participation in the CW network 2007 TV show Pussycat Dolls Present: The Search For the Next Doll, where she was the 2nd runner-up. Early Years Korka is an outgoing young girl who learned and loved everything about Marvel Comics, video games, and action. Despite her somewhat boyish interests, she was still very much a girl, playing with make-up and shopping with friends. Her greatest insecurity was a serious weight problem, tipping the scales at 187 pounds.. However, she managed to lose weight in her middle school years through diet and exercise. She suffered from Bacterial Meningitis in 2005, and almost lost her life. Then in 2006, in a "spur of the moment" decision, she decided to take part in Pussycat Dolls Present. As well, she became Miss West Brodward USA 2007 at the age of 19 and competed in Miss Florida USA. Chelsea is ethnically Hungarian. Career Pussycat Dolls Present: Search for the Next Doll Thanks to her voice, admired by both contestants, judges and often compared to Christina Aguilera's, Korka made it to the semi-finals, where she was one of the girls who got sick compromising her chances, but Robin Antin felt she was the girl with the most potential. She finished third. Paradiso Girls Chelsea has since joined the The Paradiso Girls, which is a five-member group Robin Antin created and aimed for Europe and then to be introduced to the US. Each girl represents a country, with Chelsea representing the USA. Chelsea has been taking dancing classes with the other members.. This group used to consist of eight members but now features three English girls, one French girl and then Korka was the last member to join.. Unlike the Pussycat Dolls it has no lead singer and all of the girls represent something unique. Chelsea has stated she would get a new look for this group as she considers her trademark bangs to be her "Doll" look, but has recently decided to perform with the bangs and a new look because she feels that her fans would appreciate it more if she kept the bangs., however she has gone blonde before returning to her old looks. She has also been to Australia to record for the Paradiso Girls. Chelsea has confirmed that she is still working on her solo career. Per her myspace page Korka has confirmed that she has resolved her contractual issues with the Paradiso Girls and will remain with them. Producers Fernando Garibay and will.i.am have confirmed in past interviews they are producing tracks for the upcoming album. Their first single was tipped to be called "Patron Tequila". Solo career She appeared as an extra in labelmates Pop/R&B Girl Group Girlicious debut singles music video Stupid Shit. In September 2008 Chelsea confirmed on her Myspace that she is indeed working towards recording a solo debut album. Chelsea's Myspace page features Give Me A Sign, Better Than, a Stevie Wonder cover, but which all were recorded years ago before Search for the Next Doll while living in Florida. The demos had an Electronica/Pop/Dance feel to them. It is unknown which label she is signed to as a solo artist and when the album is due for release, but Korka has confirmed her main focus is in The Paradiso Girls and Interscope Records as of right now. As of 2009, Korka is perfoming as a Pussycat Doll in L.A. at the Viper Room. She has recently been featured on Electronica Dance Music Producer Space Cowboy's debut single Falling Down which is currently rising to popularity.. Other endeavors Keeping in touch with Antin, Korka later took part in the Fashion Cares 2007 event where she performed a "Pink Panther/Fever" medley alongside Girlesque, Melissa Smith, and Melissa Reyes. She also starred in a one week installment at the Pussycat Dolls lounge in Las Vegas alongside Melody Thornton in 2007. She is often featured in CW events to promote Pussycat Dolls Present: Girlicious although she has recently confirmed she would not be part of the show, due to her Paradiso Girls commitments.. She performed again in the Las Vegas Pussycat Dolls Lounge on May 18th and 20th 2008Announced on a fansite for Korka, Chelsea is now set to headline and perform weekly at the new PCD Lounge in West Hollywood, Ca. The lounge is located at The Viper Room on the sunset-strip and has been open since late November 2008. She is also singing back-up vocals on Britney Spears's song "Amnesia". Chelsea then featured on single 'Falling Down'. The rest of the Paradiso Girls joined her in a cameo for the filming of the video.
