Charlene Shorto de Ganay a.k.a. Chachá is a Brazilian socialite and the Paris-based PR and muse of Italian designer Valentino Garavani. She was married to another Valentino PR, Brazilian with whom she has had two sons Sean and Anthony. Valentino and his associate Giancarlo Giammetti are their godfathers. Biography Shorto was born in Pernambuco, Brasil but currently lives between Paris and her summer house in Barra do Una, near Salvador de Bahia, Brazil which has also been featured on magazine US Elle Decor. She is a driving force behind Valentino, either backstage at his Paris Haute Couture shows or walking down the red carpet at Cannes movie festival with him. Charlene has been a fixture of the jet set and the fashion scene on both sides of the Atlantic and at the forefront of Rio's social scene in its golden years with the likes of Silvinha Martins, Odile Rubirosa, Carlos de Souza, Othonzinho Bezerra dea Mello, Jorge Guinle Filho, Lyginha Duran, Huguinho Jereissatti, Peggy Mellon, Chico Aragão and Bruno Barreto. She has appeared as herself on the "Getting Valentino" featurette on ,'s DVD. She's the sister of Denise Shorto, who was married to Baron Hans Heinrich Thyssen-Bornemisza, as his fourth wife.
