Chamblee-Tucker Road

Chamblee-Tucker Road is a road in DeKalb County, Georgia, that links the unincorporated community of Tucker with the city of Chamblee. A part of DeKalb-Peachtree Airport is located along this road. Tucker High School is located at the southern terminus of the road. It also has an interchange with Interstate 285 (I-285) and I-85.
Route description
Chamblee-Tucker Road begins at an intersection with State Route 236 (SR 236, LaVista Road) in Tucker; Tucker High School is located at this intersection. The road travels north through a largely residential area of Tucker for approximately , passing Livsey Elementary School along its route. At its first major intersection, an intersection with Tucker-Norcross Road, Chamblee-Tucker Road turns to the west and intersects with Evans Road. Approximately a mile later, it comes to an intersection with Henderson Mill Road before passing Embry Hills Shopping Center and an intersection with Northcrest Road. After that, Chamblee-Tucker Road comes to an interchange with I-285 ("The Perimeter") just south of the Tom Moreland Interchange, which is often nicknamed "Spaghetti Junction", an interchange between I-285 and I-85, with several ramps and access roads, before curving to the southwest and passing North Hills Shopping Center. It then has intersections with Buckeye Road and Embry Circle. A short while later, it passes Mercer University Drive west of the Mercer University campus, before curving to the west and coming to an intersection with Presidential Parkway. Immediately following this intersection is an interchange with I-85. Chamblee-Tucker Road continues travelling west-northwest through residential areas in Chamblee before coming to an intersection with Shallowford Road, at which point Chamblee-Tucker Road curves back to the west before an intersection with U.S. Route 23 (US 23) and SR 13 (Buford Highway). Following this intersection, Chamblee-Tucker Road continues west into Downtown Chamblee, passing DeKalb-Peachtree Airport. After that, it comes to an intersection with New Peachtree Road, passing the Chamblee MARTA station, curving northwest and traveling underneath the MARTA Gold Line before intersecting with Peachtree Road. A few blocks later, Chamblee-Tucker Road meets its northern terminus, an intersection with SR 141 (Peachtree Boulevard). a system of roadways important to the nation's economy, defense, and mobility.
Public transportation
Chamblee-Tucker Road is served by MARTA bus route 126 between the Chamblee MARTA station and Henderson Mill Road, with select trips also operating along nearby Flowers Road South around the Mercer University campus, as well as Buckeye Road and Presidential Parkway. MARTA bus route 33 serves the portion of Chamblee-Tucker Road between the Chamblee MARTA Station and Interstate 85, with southbound buses operating along Dresden Drive, which is right next to Interstate 85. MARTA bus route 124 serves the Tucker portion of Chamblee-Tucker Road, between Tucker-Norcross Road and S.R. 236 (LaVista Road).
