Cause stalking

Cause stalking, sometimes called gang stalking when multiple harassers are involved, is a term referring to harassment by groups (or sometimes an individual) of a person who is believed by his/her harasser(s) to be deserving of vigilante justice.
The perpetrators of cause stalking have been called vengeance stalkers. The feature distinguishing vengeance stalking from ordinary stalking is that a vengeance stalker does not seek a personal relationship with his target, acting instead to get even with the target, whom he believes has wronged him or his group.
An investigator has asserted cause-stalking / gang-stalking groups are widespread, and some make themselves available for hire. A gang-stalking group acting on behalf of a third party would be engaging in terrorist stalking, using stalking as a weapon of terror (and coercion) against the target.
