Composer, pianist and researcher in the DSP field, Carmine Emanuele Cella graduated in Piano, Electronic Music and Composition respectively with Maria Teresa Carunchio, Eugenio Giordani and Aurelio Samorì from the Gioachino Rossini conservatory in Pesaro, Italy. He studied also conduction with Gilberto Serembe. At the moment he is attending the composition course at the S. Cecilia Academy of music with A. Corghi. He won the Rossini composition competition and special mentions at the Ibla Grand Prize and at the E. Carella competition and has been semifinalist at Queen Elizabeth Competition.
Since 2000 is he repetiteur at the major lyrical institutions: the Rossini Opera Festival (Italy), the Wexford Festival Opera (Ireland), the Teatro Comunale of Bologna (Italy), the Teatro Rossini of Lugo (Italy). He played in recitals with the famous soprano Mariella Devia and had some collaborations with Luciano Pavarotti. He plays jazz with his quartet.
He has also experienced on theatrical works: in 1996 he composed and conducted the music for a play presented at the National Festival of Dramatic Art for which he received critical acclaim. Between 1996 and 1999 he toured with the actor Marco Messeri. In 1999 he composed a chamber opera that was commissioned by the Teatro Bonci in Cesena (Italy). In 2001 he wrote the music for a ballet on Futurism using only computer music.
Carmine Emanuele Cella has a laurea summa cum laude in Philosophy and a part of his time is dedicated to DSP research: he usually writes for many technical journals and he works with many company in the digital audio field. He teaches computer music and he holds workshop on C++ audio programming; in January 2006 has been invited as lecturer at IRCAM in Paris (France) for his work on .
