Capstone Associated Services

Capstone Associated Services, Ltd., is a captive insurance and alternative risk transfer company that services middle market companies throughout the United States. The company is headquartered in Houston, Texas, and has been a member of the Captive Insurance Companies Association (CICA) since 1997 and the Delaware Captive Insurance Association (DCIA) since 2009.
History
Capstone was founded by Stewart A. Feldman in 1998. Feldman currently serves as the company's general counsel and chief executive officer. Since its inception, the company has formed over 150 captive insurance companies for middle market businesses.
In May 2007, Capstone was instrumental in Texas-based Northstar Healthcare’s initial public offering on the Canadian Stock Exchange—the largest initial IPO in that country for 2007. This transaction was the result of two years of cross-border negotiations that involved the formation of Delaware-based Northstar Healthcare Acquisitions, LLC and consolidation of the two largest independent ambulatory
surgery centers in Houston - The Palladium for Surgery and Kirby Surgical Center with related operations elsewhere in Houston and Dallas. Northstar Healthcare has no base Canadian operations, but is able to trade in the country’s equity markets.
Capstone was also the featured presenter at the 2010 ABS East conference, an institutional finance and investment conference.
In 2011, Capstone's seminar, “Own Your Own Insurance Company,” drew over a hundred attendees, including representatives from Pacific Life and the Royal Bank of Canada.
In May 2012, Capstone’s vice president of marketing and business development Clete Thompson was quoted on Property Casualty 360’s website on the proliferation of captive insurance facilities in the last year.
