Cape Verdean-Kosovar relations are foreign relations between Cape Verde and Kosovo. Formal diplomatic relations between two states are non-existent as Cape Verde does not recognize Kosovo as a sovereign state. History At a meeting in May 2009 with Kosovo's Foreign Minister, Skënder Hyseni, the representative of Cape Verde to the UN, Antonio Pedro Monteiro Lima, reportedly said that the decision on recognition of Kosovo was only "a matter of time" and that "Cape Verde knows very well the price of freedom". In December 2010, Cape Verde's National Director of Political Affairs and Cooperation, José Luis Rocha, said that his country would wait until there was consensus at the United Nations Security Council before considering its position.
