Canuxploitation

Canuxploitation films are exploitation films made in Canada about Canadian life and culture. The term is believed to have come from the fall 1999 article "Canuxploitation! Goin' Down the Road with the Cannibal Girls that Ate Black Christmas. Your Complete Guide to the Canadian B-Movie", which appeared in Broken Pencil magazine.
Through the funding of the Canadian Film Development Corporation in the 1970s, Canadian film distributors could produce their own versions of exploitation films imported from other countries.
