Canley way

The Canley Way is a proposed walking route which encourages walkers to explore the diverse green spaces that can be found in Canley, Coventry. The route is around four miles long and takes you from Cromwell Lane in Westwood to the historic hamlet of Stivichall by the War Memorial Park, Coventry.

You will walk through the beautiful ancient bluebell woodlands of Park Wood and Ten Shilling Wood. Along the route you can follow the Canley Brook, which is home to the endangered water vole. There are wide open fields, full of wild flowers attracting butterflies and bees. At Canley Ford you can walk through the magnificent sunken lane worn down over the centuries by the passage of horse drawn carts. The Canley Hamlet conservation area is also nearby with its collection of listed Georgian farm buildings.
The Canley Way is likely to open in 2012 when its route will be physically marked with waymarker signs. The Friends of Canley Green Spaces and its volunteers will be active in bringing the Canley Way to life.
Along the Canley Way route there are Circular Walks based on themes:
* Canley Woodland
* Canley History Walk
