Candice Reed

Candice Reed, born 23 June 1980 in Melbourne, was Australia's first IVF baby and the world's third under the leadership of Ian Johnston.
Reed did a journalism cadetship in Victoria where she spent most of her time writing on the sports desk. She moved to New Zealand in June, 2006 where she worked for the Howick and Pakuranga Times and a year later worked as a reporter at The Aucklander. In December, 2008, she left The Aucklander to pursue a career in social work.
Reed is an advocate on behalf of others born by IVF and has lobbied to add information about reproductive technology to school curricula. In 2005, she organized Australia's first meeting of people conceived by IVF, a teleconference that was attended by 12 "IVFlings," as they called themselves.
