Cakeboy is an English music producer active in Brighton since 1999. He is currently signed to Mutate Records and also released on Embeats Records in the United Kingdom. Career Producer Paul Croley, after many years being a drummer, then studio sound engineer, began writing music under the Cakeboy moniker in 1999, inspired by Brighton’s emerging Big Beat scene. In 2004 he took the title of best dance act in Glastonbury Festival’s first ever ‘Unsigned Contest’ and performed in the main Dance Arena that summer. Major electronic music releases have been picked up by major radio stations in the UK. Discography 2001 Debut single 'Top Banana / Bovine Beats' (Sonic Tonic Records UK).. Reached No. 4 in DJ Magazine Breaks chart. 2004 Track 'Big & Bouncy' featured on compilation mix album 'Ethnomixicology' by 'The Outernationalists' (Six Degrees Records, US) 2006 Single 'Bedrock' and album 'Have It & Eat It' (Cup Of Tea Records UK) 2009 Track 'Skyrider' featured on compilation 'Mutations Vol 2' (Mutate Records UK) 2010 Single 'Swamp Thing' (Mutate Records UK) Support from DJs Laurent Garnier, Cut La Roc, Ben & Lex.
