Buck Elliott

Albert Winslow Elliott, Jr. (February 27, 1919 in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, USA - September 18, 1995), nicknamed "Buck," was a minor league baseball player and manager.
Prior to playing professionally, he attended high school in Glen Rock, Pennsylvania.
He played from 1937 to 1940, in 1942, from 1947 to 1953 and from 1955 to 1956. Over the course of his 14-year career, the outfielder/first baseman played in 1,228 games, hitting as high as .336 in a season. He twice hit at least 20 home runs (in 1947 and 1950) and 10 triples (in 1940 and 1947). His playing career was interrupted by World War II - he served 4.5 years in the U.S. Army Air Corps.
Elliott later scouted for the San Diego Padres (1969), Kansas City Royals (1970), New York Mets (1971-1976), Baltimore Orioles (1977-1978), New York Yankees (1980) and Oakland Athletics (1982-1985).
He signed, among others, former Mets pitcher Craig Swan.
