Bsnes

bsnes is an emulator for the Super Famicom and SNES video game systems. The project was started from scratch by byuu on October 14, 2004, and a Mac OS X port was added by Richard Bannister in 2005.

bsnes focuses primarily on accuracy, providing bus accurate processor emulation. This entails breaking each CPU instruction down into multiple individual instruction cycles. Though the SNES processors are not very fast compared to today's computing power, the act of synchronizing multiple processors at such a low level requires substantial overhead. As such, at least a Intel Core 2 is recommended to achieve full speed.
