Bryan Wessel

Super Swooper is the stage name of musician Bryan Wessel (born April 26, 1985). Wessel, who lives in Hollywood, California, has released four LPs on Moxie Art. He began making music while studying working with with musician Adam Shrout on their debut album Light on the Starch. He specializes in mashup style remixes, in which he uses samples from different songs to create a new song such as his hit single Lets Go Shopping, a criticism that Wessel has attributed to a mainstream media that wants "to create controversy and make slow jams to make love to any partner" citing fair use as a legal backbone for his sampling practices.

He has given different explanations for the origin of his stage name, once saying that it alluded to a Danielle Steel novel and once saying that it alluded to an early Shrout side project. In school, Wessel focused on explosive engineering. He later worked as an graphic design artist, but quit in May 2002 to focus solely on music.
