Bruce Macdonald (Mac) is a South African film & television & commercials director born in November 1984. Life and Career Macdonald was born in South Africa, and graduated high school from Rondebosch Boys High School. He did his National Service with the SA NAVY, where he studied film production at Verwoedburg Technical College and graduated with a Diploma in Film Production in 1988. His career started at Atkinson Television, as a cameraman, notable documentaries were Enest Mancoba life story, South Africa’s reemergence into the Commonwealth for Channel nine with Nelson Mandela and Prince Edward. Macdonald also worked for news networks RAI, BBC, ZDF covering the historic release of Nelson Mandela from Victor Verster Prison, and the build up to the event. In 1994 Macdonald was the facilities producer for the International Broadcasting Centre which serviced all major networks - ABC, BBC Panorama, ZDF, RAI, NBC. In 1996 Macdonald opened Cape Africa Boomtown Productions which serviced and produced commercials for premiere brands Bacardi Breezer, SupaQuick, Shell , V&A waterfront, Nadec (Saudi Arabia) Vantage Cigarettes (UK) Safeguard Soap (USA) In 2000 Macdonald transitioned from producer to director. Macdonald has directed commercials for Watania Chicken , PediaSure, Gain Plus, Saudi Oger (UAE) Cerleac, Golden Morn, Golden Millet, Ideal Milk (East Africa) SupaQuick, Bridgestone, Firestone, Speedy, Spekko, Buchu Life (South Africa) Bridestone (New Zealand) Storm Jeans (Greece) Macdonald also directed the first ever flashmob at Decorex, Cape Town 2014 for Ceasarstone, In 2009 Macdonald conceived the film THE PERFECT WAVE, which has released across the world in 2014.
