Browser Behaving Badly?

Be wary of these anti-virus popup windows appearing on the Internet lately. Do not activate the scan, even if it is free. It will activate a fake trojan on your computer. It is not technically a real trojan, but has all the characteristics of a trojan. It will attempt to load this anti-virus program through the popup. It may disable or interfere with your other programs while attempting to load this anti-virus program. This program is a memory hog, which explains why it is able to effectively shutdown or disable your other programs. It will create performance issues for your computer. Finally, the best way to stop the popup is to initiate a Control-Alt-Delete to bring up your task manager. Within task manager only, you will be able to shutdown this window. Simply closing the popup window will not disable this fake trojan. It will still be able to load and infect your system. Many users have effectively reduced the incidence of trojan popups by increasing the stealth settings for their popup blocker, the only drawback being you will have to manually allow a popup to function when you want a popup to be viewed.

Browser redirects and svchost trojans can wreck havoc on any computer.  The browser redirects the link to another location.  Searches become a meaningless affair of sludge/spam advertising. Saved bookmarks are not exempted. Memory issues escalate as some trojans have the ability to hog memory. Screen freezes become more apparent, even with adequate memory installed. Svchost redirects are a more powerful form of this technique. The trojans are embedded in the execute svchost file. The problem is determining which svchost file contains the trojan. A spyware program that is paranoid and effective can easily resolve this issue, particularly a program which does both registry and file scans.
