Brooke Mayo is an American photographer who is known for her distinctive style of photography, which often involves weddings, families or underwater play. Education Mayo was born in New Bern, North Carolina. She graduated in photography at Appalachian State University in North Carolina, then the University of Western Sydney, Australia. Career After graduating, she moved to NYC and worked with portrait and dance photographers Joyce Tenneson and Lois Greenfield. Mayo established her company, Brooke Mayo Photography, Inc. in 2003; it is based on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Books Mayo is the author of two books: * Diving Doggies: A Celebration of Play Underwater 2009. * Shake, Rattle and Shoot: The Business End of Baby Photography 2011. Personal life Mayo married John Wright in 2007.<ref name="Sun Journal shoots" /> She has two daughters, Poppy Day and Peaches Dupree,<ref name="Advance 2012" /> and lives in Currituck County, North Carolina.
