BROFL

'BROFL' is an acronym sometimes used like rofl, lmao, lol or rudl to denote laughter, that something has comic-value, or is simply quite funny. Used by some users of Facebook and Bebo, it has gained most popularity with students in Essex and other parts of East Anglia. It is slowly being more common, but cannot be found to have wide-usage across the global internet.
Brofl is often said to stand for Big Round Orange Falling Loudly. As this is simply nonsense, it is supposed to be a parody in the way that it sounds like many other laughter text-abbreviatons. There is also speculation that 'Big Round Orange Falling Loudly' is just a backronym, and that the original meaning of brofl is unknown.
The term was probably first coined sometime in 2008 or early 2009.
