Broadwave is a streaming audio server project created by NCH Software initially released in July 2006. It is a "one to one" or "one to many" application, similar to an Internet radio stream allowing users to stream or host audio from their computer. Technical details Broadwave serves live or pre-recorded audio over the internet (audio webcast) via the http protocol in mp3. It relies on Windows or Mac using the default media player installed and automatically downloads samples for lower bit rates on slow dial-up connections. Static File Format Support Includes: * wav * mp3 * aiff * au * wma * aac Other formats are supported. Internal audio compression allows the application to handle the multiple file formats when loaded as static files.
