Britt Barefoot

Brittian Aaron Barefoot (born March 5, 1986) is a punter for The University of Southern Mississippi college football team.
High school career
Before his college football career, Barefoot starred at West Jones High School in Laurel, Mississippi. He was Jones County's player of the year and an all-state selection as placekicker in 2003. He also played wide receiver.
College career
In 2006, Barefoot became the team's starting punter as a redshirt sophomore, adding that to his earlier kickoff duties. He averaged 38.6 yards per punt for the Golden Eagles (ironically, the alma mater of Ray Guy, one of the best ever in the National Football League at that position).
As the 2007 season began, Barefoot was expected to add placekicking to his duties, replacing Darren McCaleb, Southern Miss' all-time leading scorer. However, before the season started, coach Jeff Bower decided instead to use true freshman Justin Estes in that role. Barefoot made only one field goal in the season. His punting average improved to 42.5 yards per attempt, but he only had a 39.2 average in the Papajohns.com Bowl loss to Cincinnati.
Before the 2008 season began, Bower resigned as head coach and Larry Fedora took over. Barefoot was named to the Ray Guy Award watch list for the nation's top collegiate punter. His exact role varied throughout the season; although he punted the ball 49 times, two teammates had a total of 11. Also, he and Estes continued to share field-goal attempts, with 12 and seven, respectively. Barefoot continued to perform all kickoffs, as he had throughout his career. He ended the 2008 season with a 40.6 punting average and was nine of 15 in field goal attempts.
2008 New Orleans Bowl performance
Arguably the best game of Barefoot's career was his last. At the New Orleans Bowl, Barefoot, who had only been 50% (six of 12) in field goal kicks prior to the game and who had no successful kick of longer than 29 yards, nailed attempts from 38, 43 and 39. The third attempt was on the Golden Eagles' turn in overtime and gave the team the lead. Troy, the opposing team in the game, then saw a FG attempt blocked in its turn, giving Southern Miss the win.
Barefoot was named the game's outstanding player by the ESPN announcers and production staff in a sponsored postgame segment. However, he was not the official game MVP; that was teammate Austin Davis (quarterback).
Personal life
Barefoot married longtime girlfriend Holli Pulliam on January 12, 2008 in Mentone, Alabama. Pulliam is the first cousin of pop singer Lance Bass, therefore making Barefoot and Bass related through marriage.
