Dominican British (Spanish: Británicos dominicanos) people are citizens or residents of the United Kingdom whose ethnic roots lie fully or partially in the Spanish-speaking Caribbean nation of the Dominican Republic, although it could also refer to British people originating in Dominica. The 2001 Census recorded 523 people born in the Dominican Republic, making them one of the smallest ethnic groups of the UK, as well as one of the smallest Latin American British groups.
The UK isn't as popular a destination for Dominican expatriates as other countries (namely other Latin, Hispanic and American nations). Larger Dominican populations also exist in other European countries, including Spain (44,100), Italy (14,916) and the Netherlands (6,107).[
