Brilliant Basics

Brilliant Basics - also known as bb - is a a design and product studio founded in 2012 by Anand Verma, who was formerly the CEO of IPG Mediabrands Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and had also previously worked for Sapient Nitro. The company provides design, development and support services to clients looking to create or improve digital products. They have offices in London, Norwich, Singapore, Hong Kong and Dubai. Brilliant Basics chose these locations to adopt a 'follow the sun' approach for clients, taking advantage of timezones to complete work quickly and efficiently. The locations also mirror fast moving digital economies.
Digital products
Brilliant Basics is also known for designing and creating its own digital products which are then run from Brilliant Basics. Their portfolio includes Haberdash, which is a service that provides a print on demand platform for fabrics, Weekly, a social TV companion app, Junction, an asset governance product and Snow Shaker Maker, which is an app that encourages children to personalise their own 3-D virtual experience and includes a CSS coding tutorial
. The company has a goal to create entrepreneurs internally as a result of such projects.
Notable projects
* HSBC mobile banking platform - Brilliant Basics designed HSBC's mobile banking platform which is available across 37 markets with great feedback and topping the App Store in the finance category in many regions.
* National Bank of Abu Dhabi - Brilliant Basics designed and developed their new website which launched in the UAE in January 2015 with a planned global rollout throughout the year.
Reception
In 2014 they were appointed as a Webby Awards Honoree for the HSBC mobile banking app.
