The Brian Boru Irish Pipe Band is a Celtic bagpipe and drum band in Minneapolis-St.Paul, Minnesota, formed in 1963. The band consists of bagpipers and drummers, and the band provides lessons on Celtic bagpiping and drumming to promote and advance the art form. The band is a nonprofit group. The band has released one album titled Brian Boru Irish Pipe Band 40th Anniversary, and it is rumored that they are working on recording another one. The Brian Boru Irish Pipe Band is one of the oldest bagpipe and drum bands in the upper midwest, and is the biggest, and most famous Irish bagpipe and drum band in the twin cities metropolitan area. Many Celtic musicians in the twin cities have some affiliation with the band. |
