Brendan Giusti (born April 5, 1980) is an writer, musician and photographer based in New York City. As a journalist and writer Giusti has reported from several areas in the United States including St. Maries, Idaho, Farmington, New Mexico, the Navajo Nation and Rochester, New York. In 2008 he received two third place awards from the Idaho Press Club in the Political Reporting and Rookie Reporter of the Year categories for his investigative stories on the fight between Idaho state officials and tribal leaders over the control of Lake Coeur d'Alene. Shortly after that he began covering issues facing the Navajo Nation. He has reported on uranium mining disasters in New Mexico on Navajo tribal lands, including the Church Rock uranium mill spill which still affects the Puerco River and the Little Colorado River. He also wrote investigative stories on social issues in rural southwest communities, including a series on sexual assault in small towns and homelessness in desert communities. Giusti's work has appeared in several newspapers and magazines including Rochester City Newspaper, Metro Justice News, and Synergy, the official publication of the National Association Medical Staff Services. Among the celebrities Giusti has interviewed and photographed are Stephen Colbert, Boz Scaggs, and Sonny Landreth.. As a jazz guitarist, Brendan Giusti played at many clubs in Chicago over the last decade, including the Wham Bongo Bar. and the Gallery Caberet. He has also performed with the party-rock band, Nik and the Nice Guys. In 2006, Brendan Giusti was a featured performer at the Baobab Cultural Center, the African cultural center in Rochester, New York.
