Brad Douglass is a Texas businessman who helped found Douglass Distributing in July 1981. Background Douglass went to the University of North Texas at Denton. He worked there holidays, weekends and summers during his college years. He graduated in 1985 with a degree in business and specialized in entrepreneurship. He accepted a full-time position as a territory manager based at the Gainesville office. In 1991, he took the position of Vice President. In 1996, he became the President of Douglass Distributing. In December 2010 he became CEO of Douglass Distributing. Current Douglass is currently on the Executive Board of the Sherman Chamber of Commerce, Board of Directors of the Sherman Education Foundation and the Board of Directors of the Society of Independent Gasoline Marketers (SIGMA). He has served twice on the Board of Directors for the Texas Oil Marketers. He also served as a district representative for the Texas Propane Gas Association. He has elected to serve on the national Business Improvement Forum of Exxon Fuel marketers on three different occasions. He represented the southwest area on the National Distributor Advisory Council for Exxon-Mobil lubricants—he participated in all the competitive acquisitions. He also holds a class E propane license. He completed Exxon, Citgo and Phillips 66 distributor training classes. In addition, he helped Exxon develop Exxon's Distributor Training II class. He served on both Fina and Exxon's advertising councils. He graduated from Southern Methodist University with a Mid-Management certificate. He served on the Parks Board in Sherman for six years. He is a founding member of the Study Group 800 and NPGA study group G. He spoke at the National Convenience Store Association annual meeting in 2006 and the National Bio-Diesel convention in 2009. He helped bring the Commercial Fueling Network (CFN) to Texas. He is also a founding member of the Exxon lubricants study group. The convenience store located on the corner of highway 75 and 82 in Sherman, Texas was the first gas station to have an electric charge station in the county. Personal Douglass is a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Sherman, Texas. He has been married for 26 years. His wife, Larena, is a debate coach and English teacher at Sherman High School. They have two children, Whitney, 21, and Kevin, 15.
