Bounceball

Bounceball is a childrens' game where two people are on the outside and as many as you want on the side. They try to run across the playing field without being hit by the ball. The players on the outside try to bounce the ball to each other. First no bounces; then one, then two, etc. If the throw is wild, or the ball rolls off the playing field, the runners can run. At any point in time the players throwing the ball may grab the ball, and try to "peg" the runners. If the throw hits them, then the runner is out, and if not the throw is called a "pegging throw" and anyone can run. The player that is out sits out of bounds. The runners may not run until zero (bounces) is thrown.
History
Bounceball was invented by the same group of kids that invented Diegan Hoop. Two kids were bouncing a ball to each other. They were trying to bounce the ball, first no bounces, then one, then two, etc. The kids' father ran through the playing field, saying, "Pink Elephants." The other kids soon caught on. Different variations were adopted.
Variations
Air-Bounce
Players are allowed to throw the ball back and forth as many times as they want. In other variations, this is not allowed.
Bounce
In this variation, the rules are tight. Players may not throw the ball back and forth, in the air.
Everything Goes
In this variation, players may bobble the ball on purpose, they may throw the ball back and forth, and throw the ball out of bounds on purpose.
Water Bounceball
This variation is in the water. Players must throw the ball back and forth. They must not be standing on the bottom of the pool when catching and throwing. The runners may run or swim to the appointed place across the pool.
